Cheesecake Crescent Rolls

Cheesecake Crescent Rolls are a quick and easy-to-make treat combining creamy, tangy cream cheese filling with flaky, buttery crescent roll dough. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a satisfying snack, these rolls offer rich texture and irresistible flavor with minimal effort, suitable for all baker skill levels.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

  • 1 package store-bought crescent roll dough

For the Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

For the Egg Wash

  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cream cheese filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest if using. Mix until smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps for the best texture.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate triangles: Open your crescent roll dough package and carefully unroll the dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles using the perforated lines provided.
  3. Fill each dough triangle: Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture near the wider base of each crescent dough triangle. Be careful not to overfill to avoid leaking during baking.
  4. Roll the dough: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll up each triangle toward the pointed tip, wrapping the cream cheese filling inside. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Apply egg wash and bake: Whisk an egg in a small bowl and gently brush the tops of each crescent roll. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until rolls are puffed and golden.
  6. Cool and enjoy: Allow the Cheesecake Crescent Rolls to cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving warm to help the filling set and make them easier to handle.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth filling without lumps.
  • Don’t overfill the dough to prevent filling leakage during baking.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  • Applying an egg wash helps achieve a golden, glossy crust.
  • Serve the rolls warm for the best flavor and texture.
