Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Roll Dough
- 1 package store-bought refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count)
Filling
- 1 to 1 ½ cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 6 strips bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
- ⅓ cup ranch dressing
- 1 cup shredded cheese (½ cup mozzarella + ½ cup cheddar)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: Cook bacon until crispy, then drain and chop into bite-sized pieces. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, chopped bacon, ranch dressing, shredded cheese, sliced green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed and evenly coated.
- Preheat and Unroll Dough: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or as instructed on crescent roll package. Unroll crescent dough on a clean surface and separate into triangles.
- Stuff the Crescents: Place a generous spoonful of the chicken and bacon ranch filling near the wide edge of each triangle. Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks.
- Roll and Seal: Roll each triangle from wide end toward the point, enclosing the filling. Pinch edges to seal tightly. Place rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet spaced apart.
- Bake: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overbaking to keep rolls moist inside.
- Cool and Serve: Allow rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving warm to enjoy the gooey filling safely.
Notes
- Use warm chicken to help ranch meld better with ingredients.
- Don’t overfill rolls to prevent bursting during baking.
- If filling feels too wet, refrigerate for 15 minutes to firm up before rolling.
- Brush tops with melted butter before baking for a shiny, richer crust.
- Use crisp bacon for great texture contrast; baking bacon beforehand helps.
