Heavenly Chipped Chocolate and Hazelnut Cheesecake is a decadent dessert combining creamy cheesecake, crunchy hazelnuts, and luscious chocolate chips. This indulgent treat balances rich flavors and textures, making it perfect for special occasions or anytime you want to treat yourself.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheesecake Filling

  • 24 oz (680g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) sour cream, at room temperature
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Graham Cracker Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers (about 12 full sheets)
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Combine crushed graham crackers with melted butter and sugar. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling to ensure a firm, crunchy base.
  2. Make the cheesecake filling: Beat softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs, mixing gently until silky and well combined. Carefully fold in chopped hazelnuts and chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
  3. Bake the cheesecake: Pour the filling over the prepared crust. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for about 60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center still slightly jiggles when gently shaken. To prevent cracking, consider baking the cheesecake in a water bath.
  4. Cool and chill: Allow the cheesecake to cool gradually at room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to let flavors meld and achieve a perfect firm texture.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Once fully chilled, carefully remove the cheesecake from the pan. Slice using a hot, clean knife for perfect cuts. Garnish as desired and serve immediately to delight yourself and your guests.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese, eggs, and sour cream for a smooth batter without lumps.
  • Avoid overmixing to prevent excess air which can cause cracks during baking.
  • Baking in a water bath ensures even cooking and reduces surface cracks.
  • Wrap cheesecake securely with plastic wrap before refrigerating to prevent absorption of fridge odors.
  • Gently fold in nuts and chocolate chips to keep them evenly distributed.
