Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats (use gluten-free oats if desired)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts and seeds (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds)
  • 1/2 cup dried fruits (mixed berries or raisins)
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew butter)
  • 1/3 cup natural sweetener (honey or maple syrup)

Optional Add-ins and Variations

  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional, for protein-loaded bars)
  • Spices: 1/2 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg, or a dash of ginger (optional, for spiced twist)
  • Shredded coconut and dried pineapple (optional, for tropical vibe)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Combine rolled oats, chopped nuts, and seeds in a large bowl to make the dry base of the bars, providing hearty texture and nutrition.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together nut butter and your chosen sweetener until smooth and well blended to bind the dry ingredients and add richness.
  3. Combine and Add Extras: Pour the wet mixture over the dry base and stir thoroughly to coat everything evenly. Fold in dried fruits and dark chocolate chips for flavor and texture.
  4. Press and Chill: Transfer the sticky mixture into a lined baking dish, pressing firmly to create an even layer. Refrigerate for at least two hours to set.
  5. Cut and Enjoy: Remove the chilled block from the dish and slice into bars of your preferred size. Store in an airtight container or enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use room temperature nut butter to soften mixing and ensure even coating.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the baking dish to help bars hold together without crumbling.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste by starting with less sweetener and adding more if desired.
  • Mix different nuts and seeds for layers of crunch that enhance each bite.
  • Store bars in an airtight container to keep them fresh and chewy.
