Ingredients

Scale

Potstickers

  • 1012 frozen or fresh potstickers (meat, vegetable, or tofu-filled)

Noodles

  • 6 oz ramen, udon, or rice noodles

Vegetables

  • 1 cup bok choy, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Optional: 1/2 cup mushrooms, snap peas, or bean sprouts

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • Optional: chili flakes or sriracha to taste

Broth or Water (Optional)

  • 1/2 cup vegetable or chicken broth, or water (for soup-style bowls)

Garnishes

  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • Additional sliced scallions
  • Chili flakes or sriracha (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potstickers: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add potstickers and cook according to package instructions—pan-fry until the bottoms are golden and crispy, then add a small amount of water and cover to steam until fully cooked inside. This ensures a crispy exterior with a tender filling.
  2. Cook the Noodles: While the potstickers cook, boil your chosen noodles in salted water until just tender. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking and prevent sticking.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: In a separate pan, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add bok choy, shredded carrots, and green onions along with minced garlic. Sauté quickly until vegetables are tender but still vibrant and crunchy.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Adjust seasoning to taste, adding chili flakes or sriracha if desired, to create a rich umami sauce that complements the noodles and potstickers.
  5. Assemble the Bowls: Place the cooked noodles at the bottom of each bowl. Top with sautéed vegetables, then arrange the crispy potstickers on top. Drizzle generously with the prepared sauce and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and optional chili flakes or sriracha for heat.

Notes

  • Use a non-stick skillet to prevent potstickers from sticking and to achieve an evenly crisp bottom.
  • Do not overcook the noodles; an al dente texture holds up better and absorbs sauce without becoming mushy.
  • Prep vegetables ahead of time to save time during assembly.
  • Toast sesame seeds before using to deepen their nutty flavor and add crunch.
  • Adjust soy sauce quantity or use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness.
  • Store leftover components separately in airtight containers to maintain freshness and texture.
  • Cooked potstickers freeze well; reheat by pan-frying directly from frozen.
